Calligraphic work ranges from elegant place names to large calligraphic hangings.  The work is carried out on various supports other than paper or board, such as vellum and parchment, cloth, canvas and wood and executed in different media depending on the subject in hand.  For work on cloth textile paint and/or dyes are used in conjunction with acrylic based paints and inks.  The work can be embellished with carat gold and if desired, machine embroidered to add to the texture of the piece.  With hangings there is a strong emphasis on texture and colour in the larger letter forms. Some of the work shows dimensions to illustrate the size.
